Lights over Fires – Illuminating the Omak Volunteer Fire Department
The Omak Volunteer Fire Department, serving Omak, Washington in Okanogan County, and under the Okanogan County Fire District, has over thirty volunteer firefighters. One of their facilities, a training ground scattered with school buses, old cars, and containers, is shared with surrounding fire departments.
During the winter in Washington, daylight lasts about as long as eggs stay hot, diminishing the allowable time for Omak and other fire departments to utilize the training ground under natural light. With Evluma lights already in use in Omak and Okanogan, Evluma decided to donate six AreaMax to the Omak Volunteer Fire Department. Installed around the training ground’s perimeter, the AreaMax provide day and night use of the training grounds.
Donations of any kind to volunteer fire departments extend the effectiveness of their operations, further protecting the people and area they serve. Please consider a donation to Omak Volunteer Fire Department.
When talking to Brett Carlson, an Omak volunteer firefighter, he expressed that human activity starts most fires. Find fire prevention tips on their website, and when in doubt, reach out to your local fire department.
From everyone here at Evluma, thank you to the volunteer firefighters of the Omak Volunteer Fire Department.
