Seattle City Light Chooses OmniMax for Historic Decorative Globes

In 2018, Seattle City Light piloted an LED streetlight program in the Pioneer Square and Pike Place Market neighborhoods. Evluma’s OmniMax LED lighting solution won over not just public opinion, but was also approved by the Pioneer Square Historic Society. On April 1, 2019 Seattle City Light began converting Seattle’s iconic globe fixtures over to LED using the OmniMax. This article from the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce outlines some of the key details.

Converting legacy HID fixtures to LED can save energy, reduce carbon emissions and save on streetlight maintenance. It can also help preserve the identity of a neighborhood when a quality, crafted light source is used. The OmniMax’s radial light engine and lens delivers a soft, full light that matches the desired ambience many municipalities are looking to achieve as they update existing globe lighting to LED. Available in multiple CCT and a 10 year warranty the OmniMax LED replacement lamp also comes with Bluetooth controls for easy on-the-spot or scheduled dimming.

News about the project was recently aired on Seattle’s Q13.
