July 6, 2016…Renton, WA. Expanding the AreaMax™ LED product line, Evluma adds a new warm color temperature option to its award-winning family of LED luminaires for street and area lighting. Recognized at The Utility Standard, the AreaMax provides gains in maintenance and energy savings for utilities and municipalities while delivering a diffuse, low glare light. At an average of 100 lm/W and a 70+ CRI Evluma offers utilities a new LED solution that builds upon established conservation gains. The first 3000K units are anticipated to ship before the end of July, 2016.

“The warm CCT AreaMax will appeal to customers looking to meet dark sky standards which typically require 3000K color temperature and zero up-light (U0) without sacrificing energy savings. Improvements in LED technologies are closing the gap between efficacy and color temperature; the lumen output for the new 3000K models is comparable to our popular 5000K models,” said David Tanonis, VP of Sales and Marketing at Evluma. “This option is perfect for residential areas near observatories or parks with pristine night sky environments.” For those looking to customize light output even further, Evluma also offers a compatible three-position light trespass shield.

Evluma continues to develop innovative technologies supporting the long life, low maintenance and adaptable applications that contribute to the AreaMax’s position as the lowest cost of ownership LED luminaire. Dimmable with ConnectLED™, Evluma’s proprietary BLE controls application, light levels can be customized and scheduled pole-to-pole, unlocking additional energy savings. ConnectLED also enables quick connect/disconnect from the ground saving maintenance. “Photocontrol Failsafe™, an Evluma proprietary technology that maintains the dusk and dawn on/off cycles of the luminaire even if the photocontrol should fail, is also a significant maintenance saver,” said David.

Evluma has worked with the IDA (International Dark Sky Association) in the past to certify previous product lines. The OmniMax™, an LED retrofit lamp announced in the spring of 2016 and built on the AreaMax electronics platform, including Photocontrol Failsafe and 20kV/10kA surge protection is offered in CCT ranging from 2000K through 5000K.
